Trustee
Toni Gibson is a Trustee of the FGM Education Project and works in higher education at the University of Aberdeen. Her work focuses on public health education, practice-based learning and building partnerships that connect students, professionals and community organisations to address real-world health and social challenges.
Toni has a particular interest in safeguarding, inclusive education and widening participation. She is passionate about ensuring that education, training and professional development opportunities are accessible, evidence-informed and responsive to the needs of diverse communities. Throughout her career, she has worked collaboratively with healthcare professionals, voluntary organisations and community partners to support learning, service improvement and public engagement.
As a Trustee, Toni contributes her expertise in education, safeguarding and professional learning to support the strategic development of the organisation. She is committed to helping ensure that the FGM Education Project provides accurate, accessible and culturally informed resources that support both professionals and communities. She has a particular interest in promoting inclusive, evidence-informed educational resources and supports the ongoing accessibility and development of the organisation’s website.
Toni is committed to supporting the organisation’s mission to prevent FGM through education, awareness, safeguarding and partnership working. She believes that access to clear, evidence-informed information is essential to empowering professionals and communities to respond with confidence, compassion and cultural sensitivity, helping to ensure that girls and women can live free from harm.
