Why this matters
Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) is a form of violence against women and girls, and has lifelong physical and psychological consequences. Frontline professionals are often the first point of contact for those affected, yet many lack the training to recognise the signs or respond with confidence and sensitivity.
By equipping professionals with the knowledge and skills to identify and support survivors, we can help to ensure compassionate, informed care when it matters most. At the same time, this awareness plays a vital role in prevention—helping to protect those at risk and contributing to the global effort to end FGM within our generation.
