Vidhi has been a part of the FGM Education Project since 2023, a then-medical student, and has contributed to the growth of the charity’s social media pages by researching and creating content. She has also delivered teaching sessions on behalf of the project and has authored an e-book and a book chapter about the charity’s work.

Why this work matters

The work of The FGM Education Project matters because many frontline

professionals receive little or no formal education on FGM despite its significant health, safeguarding, and human rights implications. By providing accessible, evidence-based education, the charity helps improve awareness, confidence, and the quality of support offered to women and girls affected by or at risk of FGM.
