a girl's unexplained or extended absence from school,
academic difficulties, or
a girl displaying signs of wanting to run away from home.
Indicators of potential FGM having taken place may manifest as:
Challenges in mobility
Prolonged periods in the bathroom
A withdrawn or anxious demeanor
Changes in behavior upon returning from school
Hesitance in seeking medical attention or regular check-ups
Seeking help without openly disclosing the problem due to fear or shame
